At the Government meeting, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė announced that in the near future the Cabinet of Ministers intends to consider releasing restrictions on theaters, cinemas, sports clubs and certain events. The Minister of Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė called for the start of discussions on the opening of outdoor cafes under strict conditions, applying strict requirements.

What is changing?

Stores. The government has also allowed more than 300 square meters to operate since March 15. meters for shops, fit 20 square meters. Area requirement of meters for one customer or serving no more than one customer at a time.

However, for now, only stores that have a direct entrance from the outside for customers or a separate entrance that will only be used by customers in that store or pavilion will be able to operate. Kiosks and pavilions can also operate in markets with a separate entrance.

“Obviously, questions can arise and the Ministry of Economy is ready to find out which buildings in the markets can work and which cannot. We are talking about small pavilions or kiosks in markets that are currently unable to operate due to our limitations. However, those huge markets, which are almost like shopping centers, could also open when the shopping centers open, ”said A. Armonaitė.

Cultural institutions. As of March 15, the inland cultural institutions will also be able to resume their activities. It is true that, as stated in the draft resolution, only a limited number of them are allowed to operate, which guarantees the necessary conditions for safe operation. The list of institutions that could open from next week will be approved by the Minister of Culture.

Tickets for the reopening cultural institutions must be distributed electronically or visitors must register in advance. A visitor must have at least 30 square meters M. meters, no more than two groups of people or members of a family may visit these establishments.

As Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė said, the cultural objects were initially planned to be opened as pilot projects, but after the meeting it was decided that their opening would be “a universal arrangement according to the requirements set by the operations manager.” The Minister of Health, Arūnas Dulkys, foresees specific requirements in the coming days.

Educational institutions. The government supported the proposal to renew primary education in contact in 25 municipalities of the country using the COVID-19 cumulative test method. This decision will take effect immediately after the publication of the draft resolution. Specific educational institutions will be selected by the municipal administration itself.

Contact primary education will be renewed in the following municipalities: Akmenė district, Alytus city, Birštonas, Biržai district, Kaunas city, Kazlų Rūda, Klaipėda city, Klaipėda district, Kretinga district, Marijampolė, Mažeikiai district , Pakruojis district, Palangažys town, Plungė.

Also in the municipalities of Radviliškis district, Raseiniai district, Rietavas district, Šakiai district, Šalčininkai district, Šiauliai city, Širvintos district, Švenčionys district, Vilkaviškis district and Vilnius district.
