The Ministry of Health (SAM) has updated the list of countries whose citizens or persons legally residing in them can enter Lithuania. Due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in Poland and Cyprus, arrivals from these countries must be isolated for 14 days from Monday, but the entry of foreigners will not be restricted.
Foreigners from the Netherlands and Iceland will be prohibited from entering. Returning Lithuanian citizens or foreigners from this country, arriving for work or with a special permit, must isolate themselves for 14 days.
The list of countries most affected by coronavirus infection (COVID-19), which includes countries around the world, was also updated on Friday. It was supplemented by Turkey and Canada. The full list and rules can be found here..
The list, approved by decision of the Chief of Operations, will be valid as of Monday, August 10 and will be updated next week.
SAM reminds that this procedure applies to foreigners from countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Northern Ireland.
It is recalled that the countries affected by coronavirus infection are those with a morbidity rate of more than 16 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.
The incidence of coronavirus infection in Lithuania has increased during the week from 5.7 to 7.6, but we still remain on the list of reliable countries. This means that Lithuanian citizens, as before, can come from any country.

Turkey has been added to the list of affected countries, with Canada removed
The list of countries most affected by coronavirus infection (COVID-19 disease) was updated on Friday, August 7 and will take effect on Monday, August 10. Affected areas are those countries where the incidence rate in the last 14 days exceeds 16 cases per 100,000. population.
Due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation, Turkey, Poland, the Netherlands, Iceland, Cyprus, San Marino and other continents are included in the list of affected countries.
Canada, Mauritania, Congo and Madagascar are removed from the list.
Foreigners arriving from countries with a morbidity rate above 16 must be isolated for 14 days, while those arriving from third countries included in the list of affected countries must be isolated and tested for coronavirus infection. Isolation facilities, transportation to isolation facilities, transportation to the test site for coronavirus infection, and coronavirus infection testing for foreigners arriving in Lithuania for work or with special permits must be provided and paid for by the employer, the person who invites or the foreigner.
Lithuanian citizens returning from countries where the morbidity rate exceeds 16 must remain in isolation for 14 days.
These measures also apply in cases where people have traveled through the affected countries in transit (by car, public transport, etc.), with the exception of air travel without leaving the airport transit area.
The updated procedure stipulates that travelers returning to or arriving by ground transportation from countries on the list of affected countries must register within 12 hours by submitting their details to the National Public Health Center (NVSC). Those arriving at airports and seaports will need to fill out a paper form on site or provide a registration confirmation to the NVSC. This procedure is valid both for Lithuanian citizens returning from these countries and for foreigners with an entry permit.
The list of countries most affected is updated weekly, taking into account epidemiological indicators in foreign countries.
