Star designer of Lithuanian music: I want us to lose the provincial views first

The collection was inspired by daily life changed due to the global pandemic: “When there are no massive events and no great opportunities to dress up, each of us can feel like a VIP in our home – the biggest stars. The clothes and images that I create are bright and expressive, which is associated with courage and determination for me. I wish this to all of you during this difficult period ”, shares the designer.

Rimante pays great attention to ecology and follows the “zero waste” philosophy: it uses tissue paper waste, integrates it into new products and brings second-hand clothing and accessories into the “second life”. The designer says that when creating clothes, she always tries to be true to herself: “I trust my inner voice and I trust intuition, that’s why I do what I like and express my position and values ​​through the works, and the customer who chooses to buy clothes that I believe to indicate that my position is acceptable to him. “

In extreme conditions, clothing designers often express their views on social issues and public disagreements through their work; this is exactly what Rimante did when styling the photoshoot. The designer’s friend, Lukas Svirplys, immortalized in the photos, wears women’s clothing, a particularly popular choice in the world, but a bold and unexpected choice in Lithuania. “It is not just a random stylistic decision. With the image that I created, I wanted to express my position as a creator on human equality and love that has no gender. Also to encourage everyone to be open to the world, to look at everything with more open eyes and more open hearts. I want us to lose the provincial opinions sooner and I hope that the work done with the team contributes to this.

The photoshoot is also symbolic because, for the first time, the team became my friends; So far I have organized photoshoots alone, and this time Lukas Svirplys helped me with creative solutions, who also became a model for the photoshoot. Other stars from the photoshoot: girlfriend Diana Rakickaja and dog Bardas, as well as stylist Dainius Armin, photographer Gražina Lomovskaja and makeup artist Laura Skubė, ”says R. Rimgailaitė.
