Raseiniai District Mayor Andrius Bautronis shared a post on his Facebook account on Thursday, stating that the Sputnik V vaccine is arriving in the Raseiniai District. The mayor asked the people what their opinion was. However, the mayor later erased his record.

Sputnik V vaccine shipment reaches Raseiniai district.

After some European countries began to successfully vaccinate the population with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, the decision was made to introduce this vaccine also in Lithuania. Our district was the first to smile at the success of starting vaccination with the new vaccine, thus further increasing the number of people vaccinated. From now on, residents of the district will be able to vaccinate with four types of vaccine, including Sputnik V. I have often been asked why the population is not vaccinated with this vaccine. A significant number of respondents said they would like to receive the vaccine in Russian rather than in Europe. Today there is a real opportunity to do so.

I am interested in your opinion, the residents of the Raseiniai district. Do you promise to get vaccinated with the Sputnik V vaccine? ”Wrote A. Bautronis, but later erased this record.

The Ministry of Health also responded to this joke. Soon a message was circulated to the media stating that such information did not correspond to reality.

According to the Ministry, there is no possibility to vaccinate Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus in Lithuania. Such a statement by the Raseiniai district mayor is just a joke on April 1.
