The tradition of the Kaziukas Fair has its origin in the processions of the Holy King Casimir, which have been carried out since 1604.

Even during the Soviet era, the fair was held, perhaps not as widely as before World War II or after Lithuania regained its independence.
In the 20th century, the tradition of the fair was interrupted only by wars.
