Employees will be evaluated every week.

“We are fully prepared to open gyms, guaranteeing safety requirements and customer and employee recommendations. We have implemented many measures in the club premises to remind visitors of safe distances and constant hygiene, ”says Vidmantas Šiugždinis, Director of Impuls and Lemon.

He adds that many security measures have already been in place after the first quarantine, and some have only been further strengthened in light of current commitments.

“While there is no formal requirement to screen sports club staff on a regular basis, we have decided that staff and coaches will only start work after taking the COVID-19 test and will continue to screen staff on a weekly basis if they are not sick or vaccinated.

At least in the initial phase of the operation, we ensure it. Furthermore, from now on, special stands and other brilliant brands will indicate even more clearly the safe distances between them and the necessary hygiene measures ”, says V. Šiugždinis.

Visitor limitation, disinfection and safe distances.

According to the report, the “Impuls” and “Lemon” health clubs have already placed or displayed glowing signs in the clubs to ensure all safety requirements, indicating the need to respect the distances between them.

Both individual and sports in a small group of up to 5 people are allocated up to 20 m2. meters per person and a distance of at least 2 meters is maintained. Clients will be able to track club occupancy online or in a mobile app.

“Group trainings will not yet take place in our sports clubs. We hope that in the near future it will be possible to organize trainings for more than 5 people, then we will again be able to offer our clients a full range of classes. However, we certainly will not we leave them alone to play sports together, guaranteeing all safety requirements, visitors can play with the coach in small groups of up to 5 people, both outdoors and indoors.

We also organize outdoor training courses in major cities in Lithuania, which can be attended by up to 10 people. We hope that by ensuring all security measures and, of course, constantly monitoring the situation, we can gradually get back on track, contribute to the improvement of people’s physical and emotional health and open more services, “says V. Šiugždinis.

All clubs will continue to follow the established hygiene requirements and recommendations:

  • To ensure safe conditions for sports and work, facilities and equipment will be disinfected periodically.
  • Hourly front desk staff will disinfect access control equipment and other frequently touched surfaces (door handles, etc.) every hour.
  • Clients receive tools for self-sanitizing hands and equipment. Customers are asked to sanitize inventory both before and after use, as well as place towels on rugs and equipment, and of course keep a safe distance between them. The information on the stands will constantly remind you.
  • Personal trainers will be required to wear a protective mask when conducting workouts, and clients will be required to wear them in common areas when not exercising.
  • The temperature of the employees will be measured every 3 hours.
  • Sports clubs continue to ensure better air quality in training venues. Clean air circulation is ensured by increased ventilation capacity.
  • Children attending Impuls clubs will have their body temperature measured. For this, the Impuls clubs are equipped with automatic temperature readers that allow you to adjust the temperature in half a second.
  • The reception areas are equipped with protective walls and masks are worn.
  • The limitation of the number of visitors in the changing rooms and showers is guaranteed, ensuring a minimum distance of 2 meters between visitors.
  • Disinfectant misting machines in clubs will be used regularly.

If a visitor learns that an infected person has visited a gym or receives a notification from the National Center for Public Health that a person infected with COVID-19 has visited a particular sports club, they are ready to react immediately. All clients who may have been in contact with the infected person would be immediately informed and the facilities of the relevant health club would be further cleaned and disinfected.

The pool area will not be operational

Only after a while did the government announce the opening of sports clubs that it became clear that certain activities of sports clubs could not be opened. First, are the pool and sauna areas.

“We have been trying to explain the regulation of pool activities for a long time, we thought it was just a technical error and a misunderstanding. We are very disappointed with such a decision of the Government, “says V. Šiugždinis.

According to him, the pool areas receive the largest number of visitors who exercise in them, and swimming is one of the most useful sports, developing many muscle groups, with little stress on the joints and suitable for people who are overweight.

“There are many studies that show that additional disinfection in pool areas is even less likely to infect infectious diseases, so removing this type of health from the list of possible activities is discriminating against some athletes. Even more so when swimming instruction as part of education is allowed in school swimming pools, it is a paradox, knowing that most of the students have not yet returned to school in Lithuania.

We hope that at next week’s government meeting this disappointing mistake will be corrected and swimmers in Lithuania will be able to play sports in the way that suits them best, and coaches who have not been able to work for half a year will have a chance to earn money. ”, Says the head of Impuls.
