All small farmers, including those of retirement age, whose agricultural holdings or economic size reached up to 4 ESU last year, can request one-time or periodic payments for the quarantine period, but who have declared agricultural land (except pasture declared only, meadows or perennial grasses) for 2019. or had at least one conditional animal.
Likewise, during the mentioned period, they should have declared their place of residence in a rural area with a population of no more than 6,000.
For benefits, apply to the municipal administration according to the declared place of residence. Applications can also be sent by certified mail or electronically signed email.
Requests are slow
Sodra has already paid around 6 million euros in payments to small farmers.
In Tauragė, Kretinga, Jurbarkas, Šalčininkai district and Druskininkai, more than half of the applicants who farm in these territories have submitted applications for benefits.
The slowest: only less than a quarter of the applicants for benefits in Trakai, Širvintos, Jonava, Molėtai, Kaišiadorys, Panevėžys, Kaunas, Raseiniai districts, Elektrėnai have applied.
Small farmers with a farm size of less than 4 ESU can receive a lump sum or a periodic payment, depending on whether they are still employed or employed.
The periodic payment is given to small farmers who work longer and earn no more than the monthly minimum wage during the quarantine period. A benefit of EUR 200 is paid for each month of quarantine when the person’s salary has not reached the minimum monthly salary. If the quarantine lasted part of the month, the benefit is proportionally less. The total accumulated amount is paid in a single installment.
A lump sum of EUR 200 is paid to small farmers who have not worked during the first quarantine period and have not received unemployment benefits or self-employment benefits.
Report on the benefit granted
Sodra will inform each resident who has applied if a benefit has been awarded. When completing the application, it will be necessary to choose the way in which the farmer will want to be informed about the decision to grant the benefit: receive a notification in the personal account of Sodra for a resident www.sodra.lt/investor or wait for a registered letter.
All payments to small farmers who have applied on time are expected to be paid by the end of this year. A total of 19 million is earmarked for this. euros.
