Skvernell would imagine a coalition with conservatives on one condition

“Today, it would be difficult for me to imagine (a coalition with the conservatives – Delfi) under the current leadership of the party. Perhaps something could, I could not. Perhaps there will be changes in the leadership of the conservatives, because there are people with whom they can work, ”said S. Skvernelis.

When asked, he clarified that he was currently unacceptable about the wrong and degrading methods of political struggle that he felt were being used by party leaders.

However, the head of government clarified that the real possibility is a coalition of the center, the center left or the center right. He defined green peasants as the political force of the center left.

The Prime Minister would see the Labor Party as part of that center-left coalition. He did not link the issue of a subsidy to this political force with the upcoming elections.

According to him, “it is always possible to think about what is not there, to pretend, to create artificial obstacles so that the decisions of the courts and the Central Electoral Commission are not carried out.”

He has no plans to join the party yet.

The Prime Minister does not plan to join the Union of Peasants and Greens of Lithuania (LVŽS) at least until the elections.

“In the first term, the results are not bad at all, without being a party member, perhaps in the second term,” said S. Skvernelis.

He noted that there are similar examples in Lithuanian politics (referring to conservatives – “Delfi”) and internationally.

“Anything can happen in politics, it depends on what kind of people unite, what kind of ideas unite them,” said S. Skvernelis.

Squirrel: there cannot be two governments

Head of government S. Skvernelis also evaluated relations with the country’s head, Gitanas Nausėda, who has been working as president for a year. According to the Prime Minister, relations with the head of the country are quite different.

“It just came to our attention then. Because both personalities and others, completely. The style of work is completely different. You have to work with one, you have to work with another, so personal communication is much more. But when you it is about business communication, the style was one of the President, the other was that of the President ”, the Prime Minister appreciated the joint work with G. Nausėda.

However, he argued that the principle of separation of powers was necessary. And there cannot be two governments.

It is up to the government to seek consensus and, most importantly, both when it comes to the president and the president, maintaining a very clear balance between the authorities and adhering to the constitutional principle of separation of powers. “Because the desire to go beyond certain limits is not good, there cannot be two governments, an alternate cabinet adviser and two prime ministers,” Prime Minister S. Skvernel said in an interview with Delphi.

He said there was more and more understanding with this head of the country. “You can work,” said Skvernelis.

Delfi recalls that during the Council meeting in Naisiai on Friday, the Lithuanian Green Peasant Union confirmed that S. Skvernelis will lead the party list in the elections. Ramūnas Karbauskis, the party’s president, will be added to the list in the second issue. The third is the Minister of Health Aurelijus Veryga. These people were not rated.

The full list of green peasants after qualification should be made public after the party board meeting on Monday.
