Head of government Saulius Skvernelis presented the latest developments after Thursday’s meeting. According to him, the Minister of Health Aurelijus Veryga will present a list of countries from which it will be mandatory to isolate upon arrival in Lithuania.
“The list of countries depends on the epidemiological indicators there. And what impact do the people who come from there have on our country and their epidemiological situation. This is Minister A. Veryga and he will decide when evaluating the numbers, the criteria will be adopted, which will be taken into account, “said the Prime Minister.
According to S. Skvernelis, the Chief of Operations, Minister A. Veryga, with this amendment acquires the right to indicate compulsory isolation for Lithuanian citizens from third countries.
The Prime Minister also hinted at a new use of the concept of quarantine. People from certain countries could be quarantined.
“There is also one of the alternatives under consideration: publishing quarantine in the case of certain entities. Some states, or residents who come from them, tourists, could be declared as quarantine subjects, then they would be subject to the restrictions provided in the conditions of quarantine “, – said the Prime Minister about one of the alternatives.
According to BNS, these decisions were made in response to a coronavirus outbreak at a Kaunas-registered company, Hegelmann Transport, when the infection was detected in Uzbek employees.
The instructions for events can be very strict.
In a meeting on Thursday, the government decided to waive the limit on the number of participants and spectators starting in September.
According to the Prime Minister, the rules for such events can be strict.
“Spectators will likely be required to wear masks, disinfectants, projection, access to the arena, theater or concert hall, perhaps even disposable gloves. In this case, that number of participants will not be limited. And if there are fireplaces, rapes, then events simply will not take place in that space, ”said S. Skvernelis.
