“We have to understand that if someone sat in a car in the UK today or last night and tried to travel to Lithuania, then the first thing, those people can’t get to France. The second thing is that the ferry flights so much to the Benelux countries as well as other places are very restricted or interrupted, or will stop in the near future. The possibilities of entry (to the country – ELTA) are really very limited “, M. Skuodis told reporters.
“We do not recommend moving, because various obstacles are really possible and can happen very quickly,” he added.

However, M. Skuodis emphasized that if a Lithuanian citizen expresses his desire to return to Lithuania, he must have such an opportunity.

“It is important to emphasize that if a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania wants to come to Lithuania, it is our constitutional duty to accept that citizen, applying all the requirements established by the Minister of Health,” he said.

In a remote meeting Sunday night, the government approved a proposal from the Government Emergency Commission (IACC) to ban passenger flights from the UK. The decision was made on a new strain of coronavirus spreading in the UK. Flights from the UK will be suspended from Monday at 4pm tomorrow, until the new year.
