Ski resorts open from tomorrow: restrictions apply

The proposal was submitted by the Ministry of Health, taking into account the proposal of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania and on February 1. Decisions of the Government Emergency Commission.

The solution is valid only for resorts that have installed outdoor ski slopes, which means that the Snow Arena in Druskininkai will not be able to offer closed ski slopes.

“The provision of open-air ski slope services is allowed, ensuring the distribution of tickets electronically and the pre-registration of visitors. The provision of ski equipment rental services and services other than ski slopes on outdoor ski slopes is prohibited. Restrictions on the flow of visitors must be guaranteed in the place of provision of ski slope services; the maximum number of visitors allowed at any given time is calculated on the basis of the number of operational lifts: no more than 30 visitors per lift. “says the government document.

This provision is included in the Government Resolution on the announcement of quarantine in Lithuania.

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė recalled that restrictions on movement between municipalities persist.

He clarified that a maximum of 30 visitors should be provided per lift, as 20 people had previously been offered.

Liepkalnis will open on Tuesday

Artūras Bielskus, director of the Liepkalnis Ski Center in Vilnius, assured that the center will start operating on Tuesday, but not fully yet.

“We were able to physically resume operations last week and we expected to make logical decisions last week, and we were prepared for that. Now there is an employee problem, we need 30 to 40 employees and now we are starting to look for new employees,” says A Bielskus.

According to him, everything possible will be done to make the center operational on Tuesday: “We may not yet open at full speed.”

He assured that customers will be informed separately about the procedure for purchasing tickets and reservations.
