When asked how small and medium-sized businesses talk about lawsuits due to restrictions, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė hoped there would be no need to file lawsuits.

Now about the intentions of small businessmen to go to court, Lithuania is a state governed by the rule of law, where really all citizens, all natural and legal persons have the right to go to court and defend their legitimate interest. However, I want to hope that the government’s decisions, which will clearly delineate the direction at which stages activities can begin, will be taken before someone can draft a claim, ”replied I. Šimonytė.

On Thursday it was announced that small and medium-sized companies promise to request the court to restrict activities: signatures are collected for the lawsuit.

Dalia Matukienė, president of the Council of Small and Medium Enterprises, also expressed the hope that the government will make decisions that would not be necessary to go to court.

“The whole business is ready, everything is bought. At least for the amount that they bought all the things to protect and do, they are going to sue for at least that amount,” D. Matukienė told BNS on Thursday.

According to her, the joint action will be filed by individual companies. According to D. Matukienė, currently about 70 thousand people cannot leave their activities. companies and roughly the same number are self-employed or have business licenses, but he did not mention how many of them promise to go to court.

“Now 9 thousand are collected.” I cannot say how many signatures there are today and how many there will be tomorrow, Saturday, “said D. Matukienė.

On Thursday, the Vilnius Regional Administrative Court already rejected the first similar claim: the claim of the company Aukštaitijos Implantologijos klinika regarding compensation for damages suffered during the first quarantine.

“I still have little hope that it will not be necessary (to go to court – BNS). D. Matukiene.
