Candidates have not yet agreed with Nausėda

In a press conference held after the meeting, I. Šimonytė said that he had provided the president with possible names.

“We will find out if those surnames will really be provided only when there is an order from the president to form the government,” said I. Šimonytė.

“It does not mean the consent of the president, meetings, discussions, everything that is needed can begin,” explained the politician.

I. Šimonytė said he had heard some doubts about S. Gentvilas’ candidacy for environment ministers.

“It is normal to have various doubts, especially since I don’t really live in a vacuum, and I have received many appeals from environmental communities, both those who support Gentville’s candidacy and those who have comments on this candidacy.

I think it’s about more discussions and planning of the work, as well as discussions with the president of the country: how to plan the first steps, if the candidacy is approved, to dispel all doubts and give the Minister enough time to show that he is very all right. I care about the environment and the issues that concern the entire Lithuanian society, ”said I. Šimonytė.

Coalition candidate for Prime Minister I. Šimonytė explained how A. Dulkis’ candidacy was chosen to head the Ministry of Health.

“For the Ministry of Health, my choice has to do with the current situation, but also with systemic problems in health care. I believe that A. Dulkys has accumulated a good experience as a State Comptroller, a good knowledge about the problems of the system.

Once again, I emphasize that I have said this many times, including sometime in 2016, when I myself was running for the shadow ministers of the Union of the Fatherland at the time, which, in my opinion, is not necessary that the Minister of Health can prescribe, operate and diagnose. league. It is necessary to have a very good knowledge of the system, its problems, and in accordance with this systematic approach to propose solutions that improve the availability and quality of services ”, said I. Šimonytė.

According to the candidate for prime minister, at this stage no candidacy has been agreed with the president.

“It just came to our notice then. The fact that the president did not nominate Dulkis for a second term is up to the president. I think, as the president himself said at the time, rotation and change are not a bad thing for institutions and ultimately people who come for the period, come for the period. Whether it is offered for another period or not, it is definitely not something guaranteed. I really don’t see wonderful things that managers change in institutions where they are appointed for a specified period, ”said I. Šimonytė.

Nausėda will speak about the candidates after the meeting.

As Povilas Mačiulis, adviser to President G. Nausėda on domestic policy, said after the meeting, the president will introduce I. Šimonyte to the Seimas tomorrow.

“Lithuania’s prosperity will be determined by a high political culture, therefore, in the opinion of the president, it is necessary to raise high cultural standards for oneself and political partners,” he said.

“Taking into account the results of the Seimas elections and the agreement of the three political parties, the president will present his candidacy for the post of prime minister to Seimas I. Šimonytė tomorrow,” said P. Mačiulis, adviser to the president.

He said intensive consultations had so far taken place with both I. Šimonytė and the coalition partners.

“Today, I. Šimonytė presented the president with a complete list of candidates for minister,” he said.

P. Mačiulis stated that he would not speak about specific surnames yet, I. Šimonytė would.

“The president will meet with each of the contenders and may express a reasoned position on whether the candidates are suitable,” he said.

According to the Constitution, the President, with the approval of the Seimas, appoints the Prime Minister, instructs him to form the Government and approves its composition.

I. Šimonytė’s candidacy for prime minister is expected to be presented at the Seimas session on Thursday.

Freedom Party plans

The Freedom Party delegates its representatives to the Cabinet of Ministers in the areas of justice, economy and innovation and communications.

“These are three politicians who have already earned the trust of the people: Evelina Dobrovolska, Kasparas Adomaitis and myself. At the same time, we will strive to respect human rights in Lithuania, create a friendly environment for job creators, invest in growth, creating green and innovative alternatives to the movement and making data open, ”says Aušrinė Armonaitė, leader of the Freedom Party.

A. Armonaitė says it is a great honor to be a candidate for Minister of Economy and Innovation.

“This is an opportunity not only to serve your beloved country, but also to implement the Freedom Party’s ambitious goals for the future of Lithuania. Together, the team will work to ensure that the people who build our economy are consulted, not punished, by the state authorities every morning and every night, break the ice on digitization, attract investment to create high-paying jobs, grow Lithuanian companies and find new opportunities around the world. to Taiwan. “

Evelina Dobrovolska, the candidate for Minister of Justice, would strive for the law to serve the man, not the man of the law: “With this motto I was a candidate for the Seimas, which today very symbolically defines my vision and direction of the movement. We need to make sure we look back at the person: regulation is not an end in itself, it must respond to the needs of society. We must abandon the bureaucratic approach to procedures, institutions must first of all advise and assist, the correction of the convicted, not punishment, but the correction of conduct must be the goal, and the principle of the rule of law and its application should become the basis. We must ensure that the human rights agenda is based on Lithuania’s comments by the ECHR and international organizations and that those guidelines are followed.

The candidate for Minister of Transport, Kasparas Adomaitis, points out that innovation and the ecology of transport are an integral part of the European Green Course: “The movement of people must not depend only on cars; sustainable mobility plans must guarantee diverse comfortable modes of transport, technological innovation, efficient use of existing infrastructure. “

If K. Adomaitis is appointed, the management of the companies, thanks to open data and advice, will focus on specific objectives, and the performance of the companies will be constantly measured and evaluated.

According to the Constitution, the composition of the Government must be approved no later than 15 days after the appointment of the Prime Minister.
