“There will be no revolution here that the new Seimas summons suddenly, the new majority and suddenly repeals all the prohibitions adopted by the old Seimas. All restrictions should be evaluated through the prism of excuses or no excuses, discussed with business and health people.
I do not rule out the possibility that some part of the requirements or regulations may change. But it won’t happen overnight or weekly. It is necessary to discuss what works and what does not work, “I. Šimonytė told reporters on the morning of the elections.
Will form a majority
The National Christian Democratic Union of Lithuania have won 50 seats and, together with the coalition partners, will have a fragile majority in the Seimas. The Liberal Movement and the Freedom Party won 13 and 11 seats, respectively. This means that the right-wing parties will have 74 representatives from 141 seats in the Seimas.
After meeting at the Seimas on Monday evening, the presidents of the three parties issued a joint statement that they were determined to form a government headed by Ingrida Šimonytė.
