The Vilnius City Municipality expects to start a pilot initial contact education project on Monday, when some primary school children return to Vilnius Duke Gediminas Progymnasium classes.

“Education remains the biggest challenge for us. On the one hand, it is very important that students go back to school as soon as possible, especially for elementary and high school graduates. But we know that opening schools, as research confirms , causes an additional wave of illness as contacts increase significantly.
We will even try to carry out a pilot project to see if the school can safely start with certain test schemes. And if that works, then the horizontal decision for schools to come back a little later, ”said the Prime Minister.
The head of government said that so far the flow of people entering the country has been controlled by stricter administrative measures.
“Arrival control is reinforced by the existence of agreements between SAM and the Ministry of the Interior, as well as the Ministry of Transport and Communications on control at the airports themselves. Airlines will also be asked to inform all departing persons of the obligation and need to complete the questionnaire. (…) As the flow of traffic arriving by air or by sea is not very high now, we believe that stricter administrative measures will be able to control this flow, ”he said.
There is no talk of easing movement restrictions.
I. Šimonytė stated that so far there has been no talk of the release of the traffic restrictions.
“So far, we are not discussing the resumption or liberation of the movement very intensively. There are several reasons for this, both the general epidemiological situation, which is not really perfect yet, and the fact that we are trying to talk to individual municipalities, where the epidemiological situation is much better than the Lithuanian average and it is improving, on a possible separate regime. That more releases could be made within them, “he said.
I. Šimonytė said this could only be done if the municipalities commit to carefully monitor the situation, test, isolate and identify the chimneys.
“So far, no decisions have been made on this matter. Discussions are taking place, they took place yesterday and will take place next week, if that plan is put in place. In this case, the release of Movement restrictions would also mean additional risks. I understand that circular municipalities are not too affected by this, but the principle must remain common, “he explained.
The Prime Minister said that the country’s municipalities, showing good epidemiological indicators, can expect quarantined releases.
