Šimonytė greets with the holidays: being alone, we are with those we protect

We share the Prime Minister’s congratulations:

Dear,

we will always remember the end of the year.

A year in which there was more fear, loneliness, loss and sadness around. But at the same time, it was a year in which we believed more, discovered more, looked for new ways to communicate, and enjoyed the little things.

I had to learn to live differently. And I’ll have to live like this for a while.

This year, Christmas and Christmas will be different.

But being separated, we really are with those we protect.
Even loneliness makes perfect sense this year.

So I think that tonight, sitting at the Christmas table, which is important to us, will not be just in our hearts like last year, maybe even one by one.

I believe that the virus will not defeat us.

We are all together.
Along with doctors, officials, volunteers.

Let the illuminated Christmas star remind us that light always conquers darkness.

May Christmas be generous with you for what you miss the most.
May the wonders of the holy Christmas night come true not only for children this year.

I wish you all health! And of course, be happy!
