“The release of political prisoners, an end to repression, free and democratic elections are the most important steps demanded by Belarusians. Lithuania and the entire democratic world demand the same,” the Lithuanian Prime Minister is quoted in the government report .

Since August last year, Lithuania has issued free national visas and political asylum to persecuted Belarusian citizens.
According to data on Monday, 792 Belarusian citizens were able to come to Lithuania for humanitarian reasons. 367 of the people who received these permits are already in Lithuania, 87 people have applied for asylum.
According to the report, ways are being sought to further simplify migration procedures and facilitate the conditions for Belarusian companies to relocate to Lithuania.
Lithuania also provides medical assistance and rehabilitation to victims of repression, 89 scholarships are awarded for Belarusian undergraduate students at Lithuanian universities, and another 20 scholarships for master’s studies are planned for this year.
Protests against the manipulation of the presidential elections have continued in Belarus since August last year. Officials of the Minsk regime suppress the protests by force.
