Before you tell your parents? Or maybe even before telling a loved one that I love them? I would not dare to give advice on such matters to anyone. I can frankly say that when we realized with Gilma that the relationship had reached a level where we already have to publicly declare it, we decided to get married in a week, because that is the essence of such a relationship and total clarity. Yes, our marriage was thoughtful, but it was a quick decision and not part of a long, secret plan.
Did you not help Do Architects, one of Gilma’s partners, to get the municipal orders before the declaration of the relationship, but from the beginning of a closer acquaintance, or did you put any other pressure?
Vilnius Municipality has almost a thousand employees. If I pressure at least one of the Do Architects, go ahead and say so in public, the media would even pay for that material now. I know it was not and will not be. And in general, I understand that everyone thinks by their degree of failure, but does no one really believe that I, as a first-career poster artist and Gilma, as the co-owner of one of the best performing architecture firms, would want to? risk it all? No matter how much money shines in your fantasies now, a thousand, a hundred thousand or even a million euros, dear ones, neither Gilma nor I have earned bread or money in this way. Architecture competitions are organized for large projects, their participants present projects anonymously and the winners are selected by independent commissions, in which the municipality does not have a casting vote. No other municipality has and has not had such a standard.
I do not decide for myself and I have never decided on any specific project in the city, I hope it will continue once my term is over. The current search for nails in stories of five-year-olds seems tense and fashionable to me. I understand that not everyone is satisfied with clear standards. I know that such new takes are being made, apparently there may be as many as Do Architects had projects in the city (and they had many), but it is really absurd to try to indirectly blame me for what I started all these rules and safeguards for.
