The isolation time will be reduced for those arriving abroad, have no symptoms of COVID-19 and have been on a coronavirus test for more than a week. But the updated solitary confinement has not yet entered into force. It is also considered to provide safe islands in coronavirus-affected countries that do not require isolation at all.
The text has been supplemented with explanations that the isolation order has not yet been formally changed.
In his Facebook account, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis announced on Wednesday that the COVID-19 governing committee that day had decided to shorten the isolation period for companies that had arrived or returned to foreign countries, had no contact with coronavirus, they had no symptoms and had CO. -19 test, which is negative.
Therefore, according to S. Skvernelis, these people will be able to leave the place of isolation 10, not 14 days after their arrival in Lithuania.
I note that the decision was made after a detailed epidemiological analysis. Current data from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control shows that the incubation period for COVID-19 is 56 days and the risk of developing the disease is lowest in the second week after contact with the patient, he says.
The procedure has not yet been formally modified
We hope this will allow those who really do not suffer from coronavirus to have a better chance in the job market and public life, said the head of government.
Once this decision has been approved by the COGID-19 Special Government Commission, it will still have to be formally approved by the Government. This has yet to be done at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday. Although its agenda included the adjustment of the Government Resolution on State Emergency adopted in February, the issue was eliminated because, according to Interior Minister Rita Tamauniens, a duly coordinated amendment to the resolution has not yet been drafted.
Therefore, formally, the Government’s decision to shorten the time of self-isolation has not yet been made. This is expected to be done in the near future, probably next week.
Therefore, for now, the obligation to isolate the affected coronavirus remains for two weeks.
Later, at a press conference, the Prime Minister said that a new order could emerge on September 15, but stressed that a decision from the Minister of Health was needed first, which is not yet available.
These are recommendations and practices of specialists, epidemiologists, and others. Therefore, said decision will be made by the Chief of Operations and will be announced. So far, in principle, we have also discussed the issue informally in the Cabinet of Ministers, and it seems that we will move in that direction, said S. Skvernelis.
Tends to support safe greeting
According to the Prime Minister, the possibility of separating the safe islands in the state, which are considered affected, if we take the whole territory, was also discussed in the government committee.
We tend to make that decision in order to facilitate the conditions for the tourism business, but we have yet to agree on this with the partners of the Baltic travel bubble. The final decision should be announced on Friday, announces the prime minister.
He also reported that the Minister of Health Aurelijus Veryga presented to the committee the general situation of the spread of COVID-19 in Lithuania. So far, no municipality needs to take special measures to control the virus, the head of government said.
