But neither the Department of Prisons nor the Pravieniškės Correctional Institution comment on the records made public by the prisoners: Dainius Sušinskas, the director of the prison, initially Delphi he asked to review the records, and when he received them, he did not respond.

“The condemned are still intoxicated with psychotropic substances, these images have become common in prisons; the officials no longer react to the situation, sometimes they only punish each other with their eyes,” said a convict, who still complies your conviction in a correctional facility for a crime.

According to him, prisoners who use home-made psychotropic substances, which prisoners call “cobra” and “chimke”, also suffer from those who do not have harmful habits. .

However, according to the video-sharing convict, this is not only the case in closed residential areas, but also in an open neighborhood, where convicts can leave the prison without restrictions during the day and return home on weekends.

“The real nightmare is serving the sentence with those prisoners”, admitted the convict.

According to him, although the officers working in the penitentiary control suspected prisoners with rapid tests, the prisoners know very well how they can “pass it by”.

“Those who consume regularly always have a lemon with them, which changes the results, and most tests are negative because the ‘cobras’ do not appear; it is a chemical that temporarily slows the amount of oxygen in the brain,” he said the man.

Already Delphi The uploaded videos contain three inmates who may have been intoxicated with “cobra” or other strong psychotropic substances.

“These records were made a few days ago,” said the man.

One image shows a convict wearing a face mask lying in a gym in a gym just outside the colony’s open stall and moaning loudly. The man couldn’t even sit up, but when he tried to do so, he immediately fell to the pavement. At that moment, a prison official passed, probably a doctor who urged the convicts who were looking at the shocking image to pick up the fallen prisoner.

“Well, pick it up,” she says, without dramatizing the situation in any way, the woman says.

By the way, this place, where the person convicted of a possible psychotropic substance was filmed, is filmed with cameras installed in the prison, but the officers who were monitoring the territory either did not see this image or simply did not react to it.

Another video was recorded in the locker room of the prisoners’ rooms: the prisoner on the floor rolls in all directions and masks himself like a madman. The other inmate who approaches him laughs that he didn’t need to feel dizzy and then tries to calm the drunken prisoner.

Another recording was filmed in the bathroom: a prisoner kneeling in the cabin and resting his hands on the floor sighs loudly, tries to stand up, but fails.

“It has always happened, it is happening and it will continue until the prison staff is fundamentally replaced, because they tolerate this situation,” said the inmate who shared the videos. “Cobra is intoxicated by many convicts, even the informants of the officials, his friends who have inviolability.”

In the documentary “Pravieniškės Mafia” shocking recordings of prisoners poisoned by the “cobra” are also published. Rūta Baltušytė-Sakalauskienė, a nurse who had previously worked in Pravieniškės, did not hide, the situation in which it was necessary to provide help to prisoners poisoned by the “cobra” remained etched in her memory for a long time.

“It happens, it brings a person who is like a zombie, I have not seen him in the eyes of such horror: he hides, flies under the table, screams, that screaming is terrible, he probably sees what we can not imagine,” he said R. Baltušytė-Sakalauskienė. – In such a situation, you just have to wait, from one hour to six, sometimes up to eight hours. And when there is poisoning and a person no longer screams, they have to guarantee vital functions, in this case decide how to proceed ”.

The Prisons Department announced on Thursday that another prisoner had died in the second sector of Pravieniškės Prison on Wednesday night, who had suddenly become ill. It is not yet clear whether this convict may have died from psychotropic substances.

“Until the body examination is carried out, it is difficult to answer what is the cause of death: the convict was positive, no external signs of violence were observed,” said D. Sušinskas, director of the Pravieniškės Correctional Center.
