According to the employee, before the children eat porridge in the morning, pancakes are made at night and the leftovers are ground the next day, according to her, and placed into dumplings. According to the chef, not only individual children, but also the whole class feeds on the waste. According to her, the chops that the students already eat are also used for food production.
For his part, Rimantas Remeika, director of the Vilnius Duke Gediminas Progymnasium, also admitted that catering service providers had been forced to improvise several times due to lack of meat.
“For a couple of days, there were cases where (they had to – ELTA) make smaller portions and improvise. Misunderstandings arose in especially small branches of our school due to the breadwinner not calculating exactly how much food will be needed and there is a shortage of food ”, explained R. Remeika.
The school director also admits that due to the amended recommendations of the Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga for the menus, the children avoid eating at school because, according to him, they are not used to eating healthy.
LRT Radio also announces that catering services for Vilnius Prince Gediminas Progymnasium are provided by the public institution Bruneros.
