It is true that the discussion took place with the participants and the moderator wearing face shields, and the reliability of the latter in protecting against the spread of coronavirus particles is known to be highly questionable.

Contact at work

Irena Greičienė, a candidate for the Christian Union in the Kėdainiai district, had contact with a person with a coronavirus at work, at the UAB Corner Case Technologies company operating in Vilnius.

According to the National Center for Public Health, Rinkos Square was provided mandatory self-isolation for company employees in contact with the patient from September 14-28.

The debate in the LRT studio was filmed on September 16, when I.Greičienė had to be in self-isolation for the second day.

The candidate does not remember

After calling I. Greičienė personally and asking him why he did not participate in the debate in Kėdainiai last Monday, he admitted that he was in isolation.

“We have COVID-19 at work and we, all employees, are isolated from everyone,” he said. (Language not corrected).

When asked when the patient was contacted, the candidate could not recall this.

“Well, it was already recorded there in that center, I don’t know what day it was written there, but the fact is that we still have to isolate ourselves. I have to isolate myself for up to 28 days. Well, somewhere two weeks. But they said there could be changes, “said I. Greičienė.

Since self-isolation lasts until September 28 and is scheduled for two weeks, it was supposed to begin on September 14. However, even after presenting such a simple calculation to the Seimas member candidate and asking him if, in his opinion, such calculations were correct, he was unable to give an exact answer: “Well, apparently, yes. Because they call us from that center here, we sign the consents, everything is strictly there ”.

When asked if she would be tested for coronavirus, the candidate was again unclear, not knowing what would be here.

At risk of discomfort

NVSC reported that such violation is subject to a fine. If it turns out that the candidate was ill and infected another participant or moderator, she would face much more serious problems.

“If a person is found to have violated the self-isolation rules, then that person would face administrative liability.

Violation of the rules of isolation, the fine is from 500 to 1.5 thousand. euros.

If a person becomes ill and infects others and has not been isolated as it should, there is an even more serious criminal responsibility, ”emphasized specialists from the NVSC communication department.
