– You are a retailer of Lithuanian brands. Tell us more about what clothes
Get here?
– There are many outlets in the world. I’d say the word doesn’t carry the fanciest ribbon with it, but it tells people pretty precisely what to expect in a store, so we don’t avoid it.
A sale is a place where an endless sale takes place. We try to have something to offer for every age group, shape and taste. And the big discounts for people are like an incentive to buy.

We look for everything we can offer for sale at a discount: we not only have clothing and accessories, but also beauty products with damaged labels. For example, just because a cardboard box of fancy face cream, which you simply throw away when you take it home, is folded, we can offer it for about half the price. For women, this discovery is like a small miracle.
We have a wide variety of garments: both previous clothing collections, as test models that are unique, and seasonal novelties, but we may have them for a very short time as a special offer for people.
I always say that the basic rule of thumb in selling is “the sooner the smarter” and this rule really comes from my own and my clients’ personal experience. The price you have to pay for out-of-store purchases is that shopping here is a matter of success and a kind of “scavenger hunt”. We only have many things in one unit, so there is not much time to think, and there is a stir in the booths: only one appears with a dress, the neighbor already wants the same and looks with the edge. from the eye, maybe the first did not buy the dress?

– Why did you decide to participate in such activities? What is your business philosophy?
– The concept of points of sale is definitely not for everyone: it takes time, there is a big change of clothes, some customers come to us every few days to see the news and discover something new. Meanwhile, other women don’t like such “scavenger hunts” at all.
There is a female team behind OutShop: we look for what we like. This activity was very personal and started with my own luxurious taste and mismatched financial capabilities. I went to London ten years ago to study fashion and, of course, surrounded by some of the best fashions in the world, I wanted to dress up with luxury fashion designers, but my student budget did not allow it. Working with various fashion brands at the time, I found that they all host sales of their leftovers, where they can discover amazing pearls at deep discounts. It is true that these secret sales are never carried out in a designer boutique and sometimes, not even knowing when and where they will take place, you will enter, a special invitation is required.

When I returned to Lithuania, I started organizing this kind of sales in cooperation with local developers. For five years I ran seasonal sales, which were called the “LT Designer Big Sale.” Rumors about them spread throughout Lithuania and people flocked to the sales, especially from other cities. This is what allowed us to grow like this: from small sales five days a year on a remote street near Lukiškės square to a spacious shop on one of the main streets of the capital: Vokiečių street. That’s already true: people will always want to dress well and not feel the moral grievances they’ve spent so much on.
Our commercial missions are twofold, one of them, as a store, natural, to delight customers with good deals. But the other thing that is very important is our moral obligations to our partners: Lithuanian designers, whom we help to make carry-overs, earn money for new collections. When you want to dress up, I also see a lot of sense in not rushing to buy new high-speed fashion collections, but checking out what is already created, what you can buy at a discount. Good quality, trend-proof clothing and accessories, as long as they are maintained, will last a long time, and when worn, give a completely different feel to a Chinese-made T-shirt in three minutes.

– Do you only sell in a physical store or online?
– The store operates both online and live in the center of Vilnius, and we will periodically open short-term seasonal stores in other cities: Kaunas, Palanga. We will be on the beach for the second time all summer.
People, of course, are very interested in seeing online what pearls we can find there, but the online store unfortunately cannot replace what can be found live in the store, because as I mentioned, we have very small stocks, sometimes the goods are redeemed as soon as they arrive by the hour. I would say that the sales visitors are fighting for themselves and so far those who come to Vokieči calle street are winning the search for new catches.
– What works by Lithuanian creators can be bought? Are there any Lithuanian designers who haven’t been able to invite themselves yet, but would like to?
– We currently have more than 70 different brands in store, most of which are Lithuanian designers. There is no one we would very much like to invite, but we still failed. During the five years that we have been organizing sales, we have worked with almost all Lithuanian designers, the offer in the store is constantly changing, depending on what you can offer at a discount at the time. We are currently also looking for world famous brands; We are constantly looking for something more interesting to offer people.
– Do you sell clothes only for women or would men find something to choose from?
– With us you can find clothing and accessories for women, men, children, as well as beauty products from the most popular cosmetic manufacturers in the world. But above all we have clothing for women.

– What is the price range? What is the cheapest and most expensive garment you have at the moment?
– The price range, as well as the range of discount percentages, is very diverse, as is the offer. Today we have clothes in the store, whose prices range between 9 (T-shirt) and 595 (long wool coat) euros. The average discount amount you can expect is about 50 percent, though we’ve also had some great classic men’s clothing discounted up to 90 percent. Only, of course, are those pearls quickly discovered and redeemed by people.

The prices of the clothes in the store depend on many factors: the production costs incurred by the designer, the novelty of the collection, the brand strategy, the stock sizes … Of course, the latest collections will always have smaller discounts, but perhaps we are the only place where you can get the news of the season in general buy at a discount. This is another reason why not all available products are visible in the online store; According to the agreements with the partners, we are not able to advertise and publicize some of the discounts, they are only available to customers who come to the store.
– Do you have a lot of competition in your market, where clothing from Lithuanian manufacturers is sold?
– We do not think about the competition at all and we certainly do not consider other stores, which also sell Lithuanian designer clothes, as their competitors. If we already counted the competitors, we would count thousands of them in Lithuania and millions in the world; absolutely all clothing stores would be our competitors. Today, couriers can deliver customer orders around the world. Our customers are loyal, but they are even more attracted than Lithuanian designers by the opportunity to dress beautifully at affordable prices, which many stores can offer.
Certainly our strategy is not to compete; On the contrary, we invite other clothing stores to cooperate, because we can help each other.

Many stores each season, and especially after this year’s forced closure, have accumulated balances, which is frozen money for them and the space that the store occupies – we can help them sell these collections, present them to a new audience of customers. Meanwhile, we are constantly looking for news and we also benefit from it.
Instead of competing with colleagues who work in the same business sector, we think about how we can support each other. And we look for good examples not in the competition, but in the most famous stores in the world, because we also have the ambition to become the best store in Lithuania.
