At a press conference held after the government meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Živilė Simonaitytė presented the latest changes.

Since the launch of the quarantine, it seems that the quarantine only remains on paper, it seems that we will have the same free summer as last year. The deputy minister said at a press conference that the figures allow the quarantine to be released.

“You know, it probably depends on who we compare ourselves to. If we think about the circumstances under which the first quarantine was announced in March of last year and the number under which the quarantine was not announced in the fall of last year, then the dog and the battle they are used to. It definitely is not, we are seeing a clearly improved situation, we have learned to live with this virus. “We are also scared by the very large numbers due to the excessive number of deaths,” he said.

Ž. Simonaitytė assured that the quarantine is released not only because the public yearns for it.

“Surely we can afford to ease the quarantine conditions, mostly because society yearns for it,” he said. Simonaitytė.

When asked what other releases we can get if the indicators continue to improve, Ž. Simonaitytė said it could be completely abandoned.

“First of all, we also noticed the trend last week that people’s interest in vaccination has waned, which is of concern to us. (…) In principle, yes, if the situation continues to improve, it may be considered not only not to extend the quarantine for July, but possibly to end it even earlier, before the end of June ”, said the deputy minister.

Delphi Remember that the quarantine is valid throughout Lithuania until July.
