The decision was signed by the Minister of Health – Aurelijus Veryga, the head of state operations at the state level. These changes have been adopted to make it easier for people who have returned from abroad to get to know each other.
All who come to Lithuania should register with the coronavirus hotline number 1808.
According to SAM, municipalities are required to organize mobile smear collection teams or mobile point teams to collect smears from people who have come in contact from abroad, if necessary. The exemption will apply to children who have returned or arrived from abroad and will not be screened for coronaviruses.
The municipal administrations are obliged to create conditions for the registration of all the people who had contact, returned or arrived from abroad within 48 hours. Municipal administrations are also responsible for facilitating all sampling of all those who have registered.
The Ministry of Health (SAM) recalls that 14 days of self-isolation at home or in municipal facilities are necessary for returnees from abroad. The exception applies only to travelers and returnees from Latvia or Estonia and other rare exceptions specified in Subparagraph 3.1.5 of the Government Resolution.
