People coming to Latvia for health care services (therapy and diagnosis) must have such proof and a document proving their negative answer.

A negative test is also required for athletes and sports professionals, as well as for representatives of international sports organizations who come to Latvia as persons accredited to participate in international sports events organized by sports federations recognized by Latvian law.

It should be noted that incoming athletes and recipients of medical services should, in particular, contact the event organizers or medical service providers, as applicable, and receive the conditions of entry (e.g., pre-test for COVID- 19 and negative result, new test, several days of isolation event, etc.)

SAM recalls that after the 14-day morbidity rate in Lithuania exceeded 16 cases, 100 thousand. Lithuanians who have left for Latvia are subject to 10 days of isolation, with the predetermined exceptions.

10 days of isolation does not apply to those who cross the Latvian border on a daily basis for work reasons, when the border crossing is necessary for the performance of a job or duties and the person has documents proving the employment relationship. You also do not need to isolate yourself if you attend formal child care or preschool services on a daily basis (a document issued by a service provider or educational institution is required).

It is not necessary to isolate yourself every day when going to formal educational institutions (basic, secondary or higher education), curricula in the field of arts and culture (a document issued by the educational institution is required).

Furthermore, isolation does not apply to persons accompanying a minor or adult with special needs on a daily basis to the educational institutions mentioned above (a document issued by the service provider or educational institution is required).

Latvian specialists emphasize that isolation is not mandatory when crossing the border on a daily basis, if people return from work, education and the club every day they adhere to additional security principles, that is, they do not receive guests, do not hold meetings , do not visit crowded places, wear personal protective equipment in medium public places (masks, respirator), isolate immediately after symptoms and consult a doctor.

According to the general procedure, 10 days of isolation does not apply to persons in transit through the territory of Latvia, including the arrival by transporting or leaving a passenger arriving at Latvian airports, ports and stations from abroad. In such cases, it is recommended to have a copy of the travel ticket for transit through Latvia.

Furthermore, people who come to Latvia to care for relatives or to organize or attend a funeral do not need to be isolated.

The isolation exception also applies to people coming to Latvia to receive health care services (therapy and diagnosis). In this case, a supporting document is also required.
