The agreement with the public institution “Training and Consulting Center of the Association of Municipalities of Lithuania” was signed by SAM in the second half of August.

Procurement documents state that physicians will be motivated to create and maintain an anti-corruption environment in the institution, act honestly, set an example of transparency, adhere to codes of ethics and conduct, report observed corruption, refuse to accept “payments unofficial “,” gifts “, bribes, avoid publicity and conflicts of private interest.
Among other things, physicians will be informed about the ethics and morality of the relationship between healthcare professionals and patients.
The target group for the training is at least 1959 health professionals: doctors, dentists, midwives.
The service provider has committed to 81 days of training, the contract is valid until the end of next year.

Zimnickienė was very laconic: “By implementing this project, SAM organizes trainings and therefore aims to build resilience and intolerance of corruption in medical institutions, reduce corruption institutions, to create medical awareness. Physicians from all medical institutions will be able to participate in this anti-corruption training. “

Doctors will learn about the corruption situation in Lithuania and will receive knowledge and understanding of the relationship between bribes and gifts.

Doctors will also be explained about public and private conflicts of interest, taught to identify risks and dangers, and shown how to complete public-private disclosures.
Physicians will be trained to understand the standards of professional ethics.
The practical session aims, among other things, to demonstrate ethical communication.
The training will also explain how to distinguish cases of corruption from cases of unethical behavior and will “demonstrate conflicting and uncomfortable situations when dealing with patients.”
