SAM evaluated quarantine medical additives – some of them are not entirely fair

“The supplements were paid for, but not as the doctors expected,” said Auristida Gerliakienė, director of the Lithuanian Medical Movement.

“Only those additives are much smaller compared to the first quarantine, which was a year ago,” said Aldona Baublytė, president of the Union of Health Workers.

According to the medical representatives, there are also those whose salary supplement was less than two euros. This happened because the ministry changed the procedure for calculating the supplement for work with patients.

The allowance is now paid not for the fact that you worked in Kovid’s department, but for the time you worked there.

“There are such legal acts that regulate that you have to show the real time, that is, the actual hours or minutes, how many times you are in contact with that particular patient,” said A. Baublytė.

The ministry says the above order is unfair

The Department of Health (SAM) says there have been several cases where doctors who have worked very briefly with COVID-19 patients have received large supplements prior to the procedure change.

“We’ve seen a lot of people get 60 percent, and generally 100 percent, of the supplement for, say, an hour a month working with COVID patients or in an epidemiological outbreak, in outbreak management. it’s probably not fair, “said Deputy Health Minister Živilė Simonaitytė.

The Prime Minister also emphasizes that the supplements thank doctors only for the increased workload.

“The supplements are designed so that people who have a heavier burden due to the COVID pandemic receive supplements by law, get paid and are provided funding,” said Ingrida Šimonytė.

The union, which represents healthcare workers, says workers receiving lower supplements feel resentful that again they are not seen as having to work without knowing if a patient has covid disease.

“It just came to our knowledge then. All the more so that now we have to work much more intensively, because we often have to replace colleagues, there is a shortage of employees, because there are jobs that were not typical until now, that is, the intensity of vaccination and work in mobile points,

Expectations were driven by promises

The head of the medical movement stresses that medical expectations were driven by promises from politicians.

“There were many promises, but there were no resources left to fulfill them. They are not there now. The budget is not gummy, ”said A. Gerliakienė.

According to SAM, last year 46 million were planned for medical additives. In fact, EUR is an insufficient amount. However, he is confident that health-threatening work will pay off for all.

“Currently, SAM has already submitted to the Government – PSDF and the Ministry of Finance – an amendment to the state budget in order to provide all the necessary funds for the COVID annexes. It is definitely not the case that someone counts hours or minutes for lack of funds, “said Ž. Simonaitytė.

According to Prime Minister I. Šimonytė, an increase in medical salaries is also foreseen in this year’s budget of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund. How much will depend on the collective agreement that is being negotiated now.

An agreement signed three years ago stipulates that medical salaries should have increased by 9 percent since January this year, but this has not happened.
