The government agreed on Wednesday not to buy the COVID-19 vaccine being developed by Sanofi Pasteur and GSK.

In November last year, Lithuania had decided to buy 1.5 million LTL under a preliminary purchase agreement. vaccines from these manufacturers, but, according to the Ministry of Health, the situation has changed significantly since then: four vaccines from other manufacturers have already been registered and the European Commission has reduced the total amount planned to buy this vaccine accordingly.

Some of these vaccines are not yet approved in the European Union.
