Carriers will have to self-isolate from Monday, with some exceptions, said the Ministry of Health (SAM).

“Until now, the crew and crew members who work for companies engaged in international commercial transportation or engaged in international commercial transportation in all types of vehicles have not required either testing or isolation,” the report says.

“Starting next week, isolation will be mandatory for them from the day of arrival in Lithuania until the day of departure from their territory, but no more than 10 days from the day of return or arrival in Lithuania,” says the ministry.

According to her, the exception applies in cases where carriers deliver cargo or come to collect it without staying in Lithuania or in transit.

According to SAM, carriers do not need to be tested for COVID-19 on arrival or on arrival, nor does self-isolation apply to family members of carriers.

The ministry says that carriers will be able to shorten self-isolation no earlier than the seventh day after a PCR test and a negative response if the person does not develop cold symptoms.

“This investigation is being done at the expense of the individual,” the report said.

According to the decision of the Minister of Health, Head of Emergency Operations, the managers of companies engaged in international commercial transport in Lithuania are obliged to check whether the crew and crew members returning to or arriving from international flights have completed the form Electronic in the National Public. “If these people don’t have a negative response to the test, they must respond within 24 hours. From the moment of your arrival in Lithuania, ask for the number 1808 of the Coronavirus Hotline or the institution conducting the tests for coronavirus infection, register for the test. The current requirement to have 48 hours. the test is no longer available, the test is performed at the appointed time, ”says the ministry.

Among other things, starting Monday, artists – creators, performers, cultural operators and others involved in professional artistic activities – can leave a place of isolation during work and go to a place necessary to work or do business.

“After leaving the isolation area, they should wear a protective device that covers the nose and mouth: a mask, respirator or other device that fits close to the face and completely covers the nose and mouth. Artists from countries with improved communicable disease control measures they must inform the NVSC before leaving the isolation site, ”the report says.

SAM has also slightly updated the list of affected countries: softer self-isolation conditions will apply starting Monday for those arriving from the US and Gibraltar, and more stringent from Albania, Bahrain, Seychelles and Slovakia.

The list of affected countries is published every Friday, takes effect on Monday, and is valid for one week.
