The highest average monthly gross income is maintained in the information and communication and financial and insurance companies, where the income was 1.8 times higher than the national average, according to the publication of the Statistics Department “Labor Market”.

The salaries of employees of more than half (60.2%) of the country’s economic activities were lower than the national average.

In 2019, accommodation and restaurant activities, artistic, entertainment and recreation activities were those that obtained the least (2.2 times and 18.7% less than the national average) and other service activities (2.2 times and 18.1% less than the national average). average) company employees.

The highest average monthly gross salary in 2019 was recorded in the capital region: 1,452.6 euros. Compared to 2018, it increased 8.9 percent. In the Western and Central Lithuania region, gross wages and salaries increased by 8.3%. and amounted to 1,178.8 euros.

The gross wage gap between these regions last year was € 273.8.

The average gross salary in 19 municipalities was less than 1,000 euros, and in the municipalities of Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda the average monthly gross salary exceeded the national average salary.

The largest wage gap between women and men was recorded in financial and insurance companies: 36.3%, information and communications, 30.2%, human health and social work, 26.8%.

In transportation and storage and construction companies, women’s average gross hourly earnings exceeded men’s, so the gap was negative, amounting to -10.7 and -2.9 percent, respectively.
