R. Januševičius also points out that prolonged visits to prisons have been banned since March.

The convict said he wrote a complaint to the administration about such a situation, also raising the question of whether a pre-trial investigation should not be initiated into the spread of communicable diseases in the correctional home. “Currently, 398 people (convicted and detained) are held in the Vilnius Correctional Center.
There are 40 convicts and 6 detainees in isolation for having been in contact with a patient with COVID-19. 14 prisoners and 6 detainees were isolated separately (in meeting rooms and cell type), other prisoners were isolated in their own sections.
Convicted (detained) turn to health professionals when they experience symptoms. Your health status should be evaluated first by a family doctor and only he or she prescribes diagnostic tests after determining the indications. The tests are performed according to the procedure established by healthcare professionals, taking into account the patient’s condition.
Since mid-September, 13 convicts, 1 arrested, and 31 employees (8 of whom have recovered) have been diagnosed with COVID-19. During this period, 108 tests were carried out on convicts.
