Everything was given to the big monopolists, who had always traded in household appliances, and suddenly they also started selling food. This is a clear violation of the Competition Law and the basic principles of competition in general by misleading several hundred thousand small entrepreneurs. This is a mockery of the Lithuanian people.
Why do parents have to pay a kindergarten subscription fee when they are asked not to take their children to kindergarten, and even more so when they have lost their job due to such restrictions? You ask (recommend) not to take the children to kindergarten, but to pay the fee; you parents who have not worked should. How to pay? Perhaps from the planned compensation of 257 euros, which is also intended to support the family: to eat, buy basic household items and other necessities? Could you quickly close this socially unfair gap? It would be a little help and respect for parents, for whom this period is certainly not the easiest.
After this news, from what I have heard, there is already a situation in many municipalities where kindergartens themselves ask not to marry children. I ask the Minister of Education, Science and Sports, Jurgita Šiugždinienė, to understand and react quickly. So your request will definitely be honored by parents who are no longer working, who have lost their jobs due to strict quarantine rules, will not take the children to kindergarten and will process their requests as you decided. I understand that the situation in Lithuania is difficult, but social justice must be greater, even with restrictive measures.
State aid for those who have lost their jobs will be more than 257 euros, which is a small amount of money, especially considering that it may be the only income for the family. It is very wrong not to take the children to kindergarten and pay for it.
And yet, until the end. Kindergarten fees are set by the municipalities, not the Seimas. But I want to thank you for applying, it is also my job to hear from you and help mediate between you and the municipality. And a strong voice for the minister in the face of non-working parents would be resolute, weighty and socially just, a call for tax breaks for parents who lost their jobs during quarantine and asked not to take their children to kindergarten. it would be a mutual consensus and no more discussion.
After contacting the people of Alytus, I called the mayor of Alytus about the current situation, the first step was taken, preparations were made for it, he promised to react and reduce the subscription fee by about 20%. He mentioned that it will be presented to the city council.
