19 games were played in the Regional Basketball League (TOPsport-RKL) over the weekend. During the match of the week in the guests of Tauragė “Tauragė” (8-5) 87:78 (19:20, 27:17, 19:19, 22:22) broke the “Olympus” of Ukmergė (5-8).

Paulius Steikūnas (29%), Martynas Šeputis (23%) and Gvidas Galinauskas (21%) led Taurage to victory. The trio scored a total of 64 points and 73 utility points.

After the game, the players of both teams highlighted the fight under the baskets, which was won by Tauragė 50:39.

“It just came to our notice then. On Friday we drove to Plungė, we took a long drive, today we played Ukmergė. In the second half of the game we started to play harder. Rebounds were one of the factors why we won. We are ready for zone defense, we work on that in training. I don’t look at personal results at all, the most important thing for me is that the team achieved a victory. With us, all team members can play successfully. Yes we really want to win games, we will win them. The most important thing in the future is to keep that desire, “said Steikūnas, a 24-year-old Tauragė forward who scored 22 points and bounced 18 balls.

At the time, 18-year-old Olympus player Augustas Krūminis, who scored 13 utility points, lamented that his team woke up too late:

“The biggest problem was with the balls that bounced, because we lost a lot with the board. For the balls that bounce, you just have to want to open up and get on that” board. “Maybe you lacked strength too. The opponents had already met. separated by 15 points, after building the defense of the zone we started to chase, but unfortunately we did not catch up. So far this is the highest level I have played and it feels. It is very difficult to play against some teams , but sometimes it’s not bad. “

After this victory, Tauragė ranks seventh in division A of the 16 TOPsport teams – RKL, and Ukmergė ranks eleventh.

An emotional victory in Division A was achieved by Olimpas de Plungė (8-7), at home 83:78 (17:20, 29:18, 15:20, 22:20) after defeating Raseiniai’s “Raseiniai” (10-3).
