“If necessary, the investigation would be carried out by interviewing the Lithuanian population, which will allow the people of our country to participate in identifying the foci of coronavirus infection.” Residents will be asked to provide certain data on a weekly basis, such as information on their well-being in relation to possible symptoms of the disease, the incidence of chronic diseases, the provision of disinfectants in the workplace and the like. The collected data will be shown on a map that, according to the SAM report, will allow evaluating the situation by region, district, city and street in the country. With these data, it will be possible to react more quickly when making decisions about the examination of patients, for example, when there is a suspicion of the threat of a focal disease, massive in a certain region.

In late March, Statistics Lithuania developed a set of virtual maps for analysis of various coronavirus-related statistics. The data collected during this study will be summarized on a map, ensuring the confidentiality of the people involved in the study.

The Statistics Department is ready, as soon as necessary, to quickly create the conditions for the population to complete the questionnaire created through the mobile application.
