– Gabija, let’s start with your sense of interior style. He is near boho style. What fascinates you the most about him?
– Perhaps the essential thing to admire is that this style is close to nature. It is warm, cozy, many natural textures, fabrics. I like to use calm colors that allow the mind to rest.
– In your case, can it be said that the interior style is close to the personality? How are you?
– I think so. I am a child of nature. Bare feet on the grass is what I like the most. I try to spend my free time outdoors, the city begins to bother me. I am very active, I don’t like to lie down, so after all that flight, I recover much faster when I return to my cozy home.

– In your social networks, you cannot help but notice that you are one of those who appreciates the things you are already using and tries to update them, avoiding buying new ones. It is true? Why? Can it be said that the Zero Waste philosophy is close to you? Why close?
– Zero Waste is still a long way off, but I’m trying to support this idea. I’m glad it’s getting better and better to give up plastic, sorting has become a strange thing. I have significantly reduced the purchase of clothing, and even if I do buy it, I would mostly wear it in clothing stores. The same goes for furniture and home accessories. When setting up a home, it will inevitably be necessary to purchase the missing items, so why not give a second chance to those that are no longer needed by someone else? Even an ugly and worn thing at first glance can be resurrected with a little ingenuity and love.
– What do you think of consumerism?
– It’s too big these days. The feeling that material things give people the greatest happiness. But again, as times change, we gradually turn to nature, we begin to realize that the world is already tired. More and more I meet people who choose to follow the path of minimalism. And that is very welcome. Until now, I can’t live like this, but my conscience fades when I think I’m trying to get away with the used stuff.

– You have installed your grandfather’s garden house and the result is really great. What advice would you give to settlers who are currently planning a home and considering furniture, interiors, etc.? What mistakes should they avoid, what guidelines should be followed to install a cozy home?
– The first thing is to look around what you already have. Perhaps there is a sofa in the corner that is in great shape, but you don’t like the color. It is always possible to change the tapestry, scrub, paint and it will be like new. Don’t throw away furniture you don’t want anymore. Social networks abound in groups where everything can be donated or sold cheaply. Even the burden of moving will drop. You can find a new item in exactly the same way. And I could advise you more just to take advantage of the inner feeling and create a space where you feel comfortable and good to come back. If you are having a hard time, an interior designer or decorator will always help you. It is important to find the right one for your taste. Building, furnishing a house is a huge job, which is often idealized, but when everything is over, you will soon forget all your difficulties and enjoy your new home.
– Tell me, why is it worth using old things, second-hand items, reconditioned items when installing a home?
– The main thing is money. There really are a lot of savings to be made. Anyone who deals with home decor will surely agree with me that the prices in stores are cosmic. So why not try saving? And personally I really like the aura of old things. Many fear that it is not necessarily good. I do not think so. It is not what carries bad energy, but the man. We live in apartments where someone has already lived, we drive used cars and nothing. After all, if you already feel something wrong and you don’t want to have it when you look at it, you wouldn’t buy it.

– Maybe you have some tips on where to look for cool vintage items? Where are you looking?
– I’m from Kaunas, so the main search places are in this city. I already have a list, so on my Instagram account Laumiu_sodelis happy to share with followers. When the opportunity arises, I also travel to other cities. For example, I recently visited the Panevėžys car market. I didn’t think you could find so many good things there! I’m always looking for advice on other places to visit and make sure to do so. And then if you like, good prices, etc., I can recommend to others. Friends laugh at me for being a flea market influencerė.
– Are you planning other similar projects like a garden house in the future?
– The closest plan – bedroom renovation. I have a vision of a dream room that is good to relax in, so I will take over this job before the gardening season is over. Finally, when spring comes, I will try to paint the exterior of the garden house. The interior satisfies me and the exterior walls are forgotten, so this job is also on my list.

– A little more about you. What do you do, what is your specialty, hobby?
– The hardest question! I work so hard that it takes a long time to tell. My long-term specialties have been interior design and makeup, which I have been working on for twelve years. It looks different, but at the same time very similar in an artistic sense. I also have a heavy vehicle driver’s license, I worked with horses in Denmark and raced with them, and I worked in other agricultural jobs. But here is a long separate story. Sometimes I do crafts and sing. Well, as a hobby you could highlight antiques and your search.
