According to E. Mildažytė, J. Baranauskas, famous for his great professionalism, was in no rush to give advice to young journalists and television faces.

“It just came to our notice then. Juozas and his colleague Gražina Bigelytė were legends, that TV label at the time, but for us newcomers, he was unwilling to share advice. He was one of those who knows what he’s doing. he himself and allowed others to find his way. He was a cat that walked alone, “he says.

It is true that E. Mildažytė still remembers a tip from J. Baranauskas. He also follows the cables himself.

“Like I said, he got a lot attention. He once told me that when you think it doesn’t matter what you say, think of a grandmother lying in the hospital to whom you are the only person who always greets or talks to her. You are his promise of happiness and freedom, a window to the world. It really got me.

E. Mildažytė recalls last meeting J. Baranauskas in 2014, when he received the Golden Bee award for all merits in life.

J.Baranauskas was born on March 30, 1935 in Kaunas. In 1954, Juozas began studying at the Faculty of Law. In his second year, he won the Lithuanian Radio Announcer Contest, and in 1957, the Television Announcer Contest. He worked on Lithuanian Television from its first broadcast on April 30, 1957 until 1991.

He was later known as the deputy chairman of the Baltic Exchange. In 1992-1996 he worked in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. Later, Chief Counselor of the Supreme Court.
