In mid-December, when Regitra announced that all practical driving tests would be suspended until January 3, messages from confused future drivers immediately spread on social media. It is not clear to people if all practice exams scheduled for January will be canceled, or only those that were supposed to take place on January 3.

Gabija Obuchevičiūtė, who owns the rights, agreed to share her experience with the news portal tv3.lt. The girl says she had to take the driving test on December 17, but her test was canceled at the last minute.

Gabija says it is annoying that after canceling the exam, Regitra doesn’t automatically set a new date for the next exam.

Driving schools work
Gabija’s driving school still teaches driving, and even after the quarantine hardens it continues its activities. Here the girl wonders how the driving test is more dangerous than the driving lessons. Driving schools themselves have similar questions.

Another driver training company makes no secret of its disappointment. Cancellable driving tests can also make it difficult for residents to find work.

Driving schools say they look to the future in horror. Drivers being trained but unable to take driving tests can create huge queues. It is said that the exams may have to wait about three months.
“It would be enough for the government to write a few words in the current resolution and Regitra could get back to work. Maybe not at full capacity, but at least a little we would all move forward. The driving instruction and test are a really important and necessary activity, ”says G. Kriščiūnaitė-Krocienė.
The driving schools also say that future drivers will benefit from the fact that they have now learned to drive and will forget their skills in a month or two and will have to learn again. This can lead to queues at the driving schools themselves.
So far, there are few potential drivers who cancel driving school courses.
