With the spread of a new strain of the virus in the UK, the World Health Organization (WHO) urges its members in Europe to step up their response to pandemics.

In Denmark about nine cases of a new strain of the virus have been reported in the UK; only one case has been reported in the Netherlands and Australia, according to the WHO.

The WHO has no evidence that the new strain of the virus causes a different severity of the disease, but this is also being investigated.
