All scheduled surgeries, consultations and other services provided to admitted patients are also suspended. Patients for whom consultations or surgeries are planned in the near future will be informed about the postponement of services by phone, ”announced the Radviliškis district municipality on its Facebook account.

The National Center for Public Health (NVSC) reported on Thursday that specialists at the center, after an unscheduled inspection at Radviliškis Hospital, identified violations of infection control that may have contributed to the spread of the coronavirus infection (COVID- 19) at the institution. As a result, the medical institution was ordered to immediately stop admitting new patients to the medical institution, that is, not only in the Department of Nursing and Supportive Care, but also in all other departments of the hospital.

Yesterday, the NVSC announced that the coronavirus had already been confirmed for 31 people in the hospital on Thursday: 8 employees and 23 patients in the Nursing and Solidarity Care Unit. About 40 employees were isolated.

A total of 45 patients are treated in the nursing and support care unit, half of whom have not been confirmed.

According to the vice president, as of Thursday night a total of 34 cases were registered and it was decided not to admit new patients.

Following the coronavirus outbreak, the Radviliškis district municipality announced on Thursday that mass gatherings and events would be canceled from Monday.
