Radviliškis Hospital is stalled due to coronavirus

“From 09/18/2020 (Friday) until a separate report, Radviliškis Hospital is stopping the admission and hospitalization of new patients,” the district municipality announced on Facebook on Friday.

All scheduled surgeries, consultations and other services provided to admitted patients are also suspended. And patients who have scheduled consultations or surgeries will be notified separately of their postponement.

According to the municipality, the decision was made in accordance with the instructions of the National Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania.

The National Public Health Center (NVSC) reported on Friday that 5 cases of coronavirus were confirmed yesterday at Radviliškis Hospital.

All individuals are employees.

And yesterday, the NVSC received information about another 23 positive tests for COVID-19. People are informed, but epidemiological diagnoses are still ongoing, and these cases will be included in the statistics tomorrow. For its part, the NVSC has instructed the hospital not to admit new patients to the facility, and NVSC specialists continue to work on the facility.

Five outbreak-related cases were recorded at Raseiniai Hospital in Kaunas County. Of these people, 3 are employees and 2 are secondary contacts. A total of 7 COVID-19 cases are estimated to be associated with the outbreak. NVSC specialists have provided recommendations to the hospital for staff testing as well as for assessing the hospital’s compliance with infection control.
