Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga says the quarantine regime is likely to continue after May 31 and remain in the country “for a long time.”

“No, I think it is a miracle, unless it happens that the quarantine will end on May 31st. But I really believe that this will not be the case and the Government will prepare a new version of the resolution (…) and the quarantine, I believe that the legal and virus control regime should continue, I hope that is the case, “he said. A. Veryga at a press conference on Wednesday.

He stressed that quarantine is necessary to properly handle imported cases of the disease and the spread of infection in the country.

“Quarantine as a regime, I think, will definitely survive and will survive for a long time,” said the minister.

Universal quarantine was introduced in Lithuania on March 16 and lasted until May 31.

On Wednesday, the government will review the quarantine conditions, one of the issues to be addressed is the resumption of restaurants and cafes.
