Mantas from Vilnius (his real name and surname are known to the editorial board) says there is no problem cutting himself where he lives in Balsiai, even during quarantine.
Information that is determined to beautify you during quarantine is passed on by word of mouth and you will not find it publicly available. Non-working hairdressers don’t have such information either.
“At least some hairdressers actually work at my house. Languages circulate in the community where it can be cut. Acquaintances count. And anyway, I think hairdressers have their own circle of loyal customers and continue to work as they did, ”Mantas said.
Support is not enough
People who provide beauty services interviewed by the tv3.lt portal assure that although the state provides 257 euros of support, it is certainly not enough for their survival and many are now happy to have another job or savings from which they now have to live .
“We live together for two, we are both masters in the field of beauty. The support of both people is enough to pay the rent for the apartment, but after the first quarantine we tried to save because we felt that the quarantine would be repeated. So now there are no problems to survive either, ”says hairdresser Arnoldas Stančikas.
Arnold is seconded and hairdresser Lina from Kaunas, she says the support is just ridiculous, it’s enough just to cover rent and taxes. The woman resents that she has always worked honestly, did not hide her income, paid taxes, and now she is barely making ends meet.
“Probably the saddest thing is that those who worked in salons always showed income, paid taxes, we continue to pay and ‘let’s at least’ … And those who worked in black, hidden in apartments receive benefits, although they do not have a real loss ) and they continue working on their own and they don’t see any problem, ”the woman complains.
It still receives requests from clients.
All the beauty teachers interviewed say that they constantly receive requests from clients to beautify them illegally.
Some teachers testify that they strictly refused to accept clients, while others say that the opportunity to earn extra money was really tempting:
“The fact that at least some extra money is tempting is more precisely necessary, but no. The house is a house, and I would not want strangers in it at all … And in general, for me, working at home is not work, nor conditions, nor comforts, nor lighting ”, Kaunas Lina opens.
Makeup artist Jovita admits that the services she provides are certainly not a necessity and even her clients’ tears do not affect the decision not to work:
“Sometimes I get messages like, ‘Please accept, I cried all night because I don’t know where to go and lashes are so much needed.’ Lashes and nails are definitely not a necessity.” In addition, the health of the family is definitely not the most abusive, because they cannot know what type of girl and even more they will return home, ”says Jovita.
Now the unemployed can lose customers
Many specialists interviewed by tv3.lt predict that the circle of their clients will shrink once the quarantine is over. Some will start to cut and dye their hair at home, while others will escape the artisans who work even under bans.
“My own clients ask me if I don’t know other hairdressers who accept them, so I have the feeling that after the quarantine, some clients will not come back,” says hairdresser Arnold.
Hairstylist Lina says she faced a decrease in the number of clients last year after the end of the first quarantine:
“My clients are very understanding, and they know from the first quarantine that if it is forbidden to work, I do not work, I do not even understand it” or maybe somewhere “.
Of course, maybe that’s why many clients did not return after the first quarantine, and I don’t know if the financial situation has deteriorated, if they started painting at home, or found something to paint for different conditions … “
There were also penalties
Although the Lithuanian police do not separately follow the rapes committed by beauty specialists, they report that since December 16. 21 administrative processes were initiated for illegal activities during the quarantine.
Teachers who work from home can also face fines:
“Fines for individuals – from five hundred to fifteen hundred euros and for directors of legal entities or other responsible parties – from one thousand five hundred to six thousand euros,” reports the police department.
