Senvagė Territory is the central part of Panevėžys on the left bank of the Nevėžis, along the Senvagė River, with a park, a pond, bridges and a fountain. Already in 1939. The formation of parts of the city became an important representative and recreational area. During the reconstruction, it is planned to organize the public infrastructure at the entrances to Senvagė: renovate the existing lighting, pedestrian and bicycle paths, build new ones, install recreation areas, sports spaces and playgrounds. In addition, a bridge with a terrace on the pond will be built. The renovation of the Senvagė territory is expected to be completed by 2022.
“The implemented projects will fundamentally change the face of the city, increase its attractiveness, create new attractions in the central part of the city. At the same time, it will inspire more active development of this territory in the future, “says Egidijus Urbonas, the head of the PST.
The project is financed in 2014-2020. Operational Investment Program of European Union Funds “Integrated Development of Large Cities”. The author of the project is the design company MB Pupa – Strategic Urbanism.
