It is proposed to the government to take the decision to allow the provision of sports, leisure and entertainment services outdoors with the participation of no more than ten people.

The draft also proposes repealing the ban on the operation of health centers that provide recreational services. However, these centers cannot provide some services.

The document does not make any proposal for commercial opening, although it was previously intended to allow the operation of practically all stores.

However, it is planned to allow existing stores to use short-term sales promotion measures, increase the number of cash registers in operation and the like.

The ministers meeting with the merchants announced last week that they intended to discuss the commercial opening this Wednesday, a decision that was due to take effect on Monday, April 12.

It is not yet clear what exactly led to the abandonment of such plans, but the deterioration of the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in Lithuania has recently been recorded.

Currently, the restrictions are released only for a part of the stores: at the beginning of March, all stores could operate with a separate exterior entrance, but the operation of stores operating in large supermarkets and without an exterior entrance is still prohibited.

Currently, supermarkets can only operate essential goods stores (food, pharmaceutical, optical and veterinary), while others can only act as collection points.

The second quarantine has been introduced in Lithuania since November last year.
