Last Tuesday noon, 22 Lithuanian citizens between the ages of 20 and 51 were repatriated from Vilnius, the capital of England, to Vilnius. They were deported from England for breaking the law. The returnees were accompanied by 70 English officials. Apart from the crew, there were no other passengers on the plane.
Upon reaching the plane’s staircase, the border guards took the 22 Lithuanian citizens with their vehicles to the border barrier at Vilnius airport. English officials did not get off the plane and soon flew back.
While reviewing the documents of Lithuanian citizens, border guards discovered that the search for the three deportees had also been announced in Lithuania. Vilnius police announced the search for a 38-year-old resident of the capital nearly two years ago. The man is convicted of a crime. After questioning and formalities, the border guards handed him over to the convoy of the initiator of the search that arrived at the border guard at Vilnius airport.
Two other returnees, a 20-year-old from Kaunas and a 22-year-old from Panevėžys, have been seeking military service and draft service since July last year because they avoided performing military service. Border guards issued subpoenas to the initiator of the search and released them.
The remaining 19 English offenders were released after the interviews. They will have to isolate themselves in Lithuania for a specified period of time, so the employees of the National Public Health Center working at the Vilnius airport carried out the necessary checks and procedures.
The 22 Lithuanians were tested for COVID-19 before flying out of England.
