The existence of such groups, not only on Facebook, but also in other social media chats, was also confirmed by a Panevėžys resident who was caught by a suspect in a pre-trial investigation launched by the police. it was just a game.

However, that “game” was a great embarrassment to the man: after evaluating the material collected during the pre-trial investigation by the police and prosecutors, the court ruled that Darius V., a previously illegitimate resident of Panevėžys, will have to pay a fine of 3,400 euros to the state budget. It is true that the young man faced a much higher fine, but he pleaded completely guilty to the charges against him, declared that he regretted the misdemeanor, so the court closed the process and reduced the fine by a third.

According to the case, it was established that the Lithuanian Criminal Police Office had received information from the US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an Internet user registered in Panevėžys had sent two videos to another person using a video application. Facebook chat. One lasts almost four minutes and the other six minutes.

The records show minors and minors being sexually exploited, according to representatives of the US Center.

Law enforcement officers responded to this information immediately, with a search of the home of a possible suspect with the permission of the court. During it, the agents took the mobile devices found here: a phone and a tablet. When they were reviewed by experts, it turned out that the WhatsApp databases in the online chat and messaging applications stored 28 photo thumbnails in the Chrome cache of the web browser, which had been deleted by the owner. But not definitely, so it was possible to restore 25 surviving video files. And they also represent sexually exploited children.

Darius V., who appeared in court, admitted to the police during the first interrogation that these records belonged to him, but claimed that it appeared on his mobile phone by accident.

“I usually spend time online on Facebook, I also listen to music, watch movies, read the news,” said Darius V.

The man said that by using the Facebook chat app, he often communicates with his “Facebook friends,” although he hasn’t even seen some of them. But, according to Panevėžys, he and his “friends” have the same interests.

“I like to watch pornography on the Internet; I watch adult pornography and I’m not really interested in pornography with children,” said Darius V. – Sometimes I download porn videos from various sites, but rarely, because those posts are usually sent to me Facebook friends. They are on my friends list, I exchange posts with them, I communicate with them very briefly, hello, etc. “

The man admitted that he is a member of two closed groups, the members of this group send various pornographic recordings using the Messenger application.

“There are also other chat sites that I participate in, where I also receive various pornographic recordings, which can only be viewed by people belonging to our secret groups,” the suspect confessed to officials.

Darius V. did not hide that some members of the groups like to share videos of minors or minors.

“I don’t see child pornography at all, I always delete those records if I see that they have been uploaded to the group,” the man continued. “I like to see scenes filmed by men and women, although men interest me more.”

When asked if he had sent videos to other people, Darius V. did not deny it, but assured that only adults were filmed in these recordings. When officials showed him information from US officials that Darius V. had sent two videos of sexually exploited children to another 52-year-old man living in Lithuania, he said: “I don’t know this person, he’s just my Facebook friend. I did not meet him, I only communicated through the messenger. I sent him videos and photos, but with adults. “

Darius V. assured that he could inadvertently send videos of sexually exploited children to a Facebook “friend”: “Maybe someone sent them somewhere and I would forward them right away without even looking.” “Seeing no one at the beginning and it was not possible to understand that children are involved in these matters.”

The man was also unable to explain how the photos of young children appeared on his cell phone.

“Maybe they saved them by looking at the logs in online chat rooms, I really don’t know, but I’m not interested in those things, I’m against child pornography,” emphasized Darius V.

Although there is “against child pornography”, according to experts, Darius V.’s phone was found in photos, in which most of the children photographed are minors: children 3, 4, 6, 8 years and older .

The court that heard Darius V.’s criminal case stated that there was no doubt about the evidence collected by the officials: “The defendant acquired, stored and distributed items of pornographic content depicting a child.”

The court not only fined the man, but also confiscated his cell phone and tablet.

The Penal Code establishes that a person who produces, acquires, possesses, exhibits, advertises, offers or distributes pornographic content represents a child or a person such as a child, or has obtained or provided access to pornographic content through the use of technologies from the information and communication. or other means, things that portray a child or portray a person as a child are punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to 4 years.

Every year, the Lithuanian courts hear dozens of criminal cases of illegal possession of pornographic records representing children. Most of the time it involves children filmed abroad, but officials have also recorded cases in which minors or minors are persuaded or even voluntarily send their photos to perverts, who often also pretend to be girls.

“While keeping records of child pornography is an easier crime than distribution, the very fact that a person is interested in such things is already a serious sign: it is necessary to take an interest in what we do,” authorities said.

According to them, child pornography “fans” who get caught up in Lithuanian officials often offer various excuses, but the real truth of why they downloaded, stored or even distributed pornography is not dared to say out loud.

“Today, almost without realizing it, the pornography industry is ending its conquest of the world: its annual profit is higher than all professional sports combined,” said Kristina Mišinienė, director of the Center for Combating Human Trafficking. Humans and Exploitation. – There are no reliable studies on this subject in Lithuania, in the US it is announced that 35% of all information uploaded online contains pornographic content, and children are introduced to virtual pornography from the age of 11 on average. The American Psychological Association is even simpler: Pornography harms children and adults, destroys families and society. Let’s talk about this insidious phenomenon with teenagers on the school bench, help them recognize the dark threats of the Internet, because it can take a lifetime to get rid of them. “
