According to police in the capital, shortly after midnight a report was received that a party was taking place in the building on Kareivių Street, the music was playing loud and people were not following the quarantine requirements.

The arriving officials found a large crowd in the ballroom, identified 89 participants, most of them ERASMUS students.

Some of the party goers, seeing the officers, managed to escape. The suspected organizer has already been identified by the police.

Vilnius County Police Representative Julia Samorokovskaya told BNS that most of the people who attended the party were foreigners.

Officials also identified a suspected party organizer and tenant of the premises.

According to the representative of the Vilnius police, some of the party participants managed to escape when they saw the policemen.

The circumstances of the event are being clarified.

The ANK imposes fines of € 500 on individuals. Those who do not have prior administrative penalties in place can expect half the minimum fine, but this relief only applies to those who committed the crime while sober.

Due to the quarantine, participants of forbidden parties face a fine of at least 250 euros, and ANK organizers face thousands of fines.

The Code establishes a stricter liability for administrators of legal persons or other responsible persons, such as organizers of illegal parties, from 1,500 to 6,000 euros.
