People over 50 died from COVID-19, mainly in Telšiai county

The highest number of deaths was recorded in Telšiai county, where four people died from coronavirus. They were between 50 and 79 years old.

Two people died in Klaipėda, Tauragė and Panevėžys counties. These patients were aged between 70 and 99 years.

One death was recorded in Marijampolė County. The person belonged to the age group 80 to 89 years.

In addition, on the last day five deaths were reported in coronavirus deaths from other causes.

COVID-19 Outbreaks Persist in Care Centers and Hospitals

Outbreaks of the coronavirus disease continue in care centers, hospitals, the National Public Health Center (NVSC) said on Monday.

Of the 1,386 coronavirus cases confirmed during the previous day, 467 were registered in Kaunas, 352 in Vilnius, 135 in Panevėžys, 130 in Klaipėda, 72 in Šiauliai, 68 in Marijampolė, 57 in Telšiai, 47 in Alytus, 22 in Tauragė and 17 in Utena counties.

Another 19 cases have not yet been assigned to any region of the country due to lack of information. The regions to which these cases should be assigned will become clear after the epidemiological survey.

According to the NVSC, an epidemiological diagnosis of 649 cases is currently underway.

Of these, 96 people are unclear.

Last day, 11 cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the “House of Kindness” operating in Kaunas. All people are pupils. A total of 20 related infections have been recorded here since the end of November.

In addition, on the last day, seven new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the Perloja nursing home located in Kaunas. A total of 15 related infections have been reported since late November.

In addition, new cases were registered in the outbreak of the Department of Surgery of the Marijampolė Hospital, where a total of 15 cases were confirmed, in the Department of Internal Medicine of the Vilkaviškis Hospital, where a total of 24 cases of infection were confirmed, as well as in the Santara Clinics, Kretinga Hospital.

A new outbreak has been identified in Skuodo Buses, where infection in five workers has been confirmed.

Outbreaks in families are associated with 125 new diseases.

Since the start of the pandemic, COVID-19 has infected 76,000 people in the country. 36 people, 44 thousand. 625 – still sick, 30 thousand. 449 – recovered.

A total of 637 people died from coronavirus in Lithuania and 326 people died from other causes.
