Paluck criticizes Veryga for prolonged quarantine: wants to keep Lithuania in emotional prison

Commenting on the Government’s decision, the President of the LSDP affirms that continuing with the general quarantine in Lithuania no longer makes sense, that the rulers behave in this way from the deduction.

“Obviously, the quarantine regime is no longer necessary: the scale of the pandemic is under control and most countries are working to return to normal life as soon as possible.” At the moment, the opposite is being done in Lithuania, because such a regime is convenient for the ruling authorities in the run-up to the elections. Aurelijus Veryga’s more mandatory instructions from the stands several times a day only cause psychological stress for people: he wants to keep the whole of Lithuania as in an emotional prison, “says G. Paluckas in a press release.

According to the politician, if they decide not to continue the quarantine, people would feel the greatest benefits.

“There would be no more top-down directives, prohibited activities, all of which would save money, allow people to spend all their time on what they need: to develop their business, to seek new markets or to promote sales. And now we need to monitor every week what what Ms. Veryga said: what can and cannot be done. The Lithuanian people can decide for themselves and public awareness must be promoted, “says G. Paluckas.

At the suggestion of the LSDP President, after the quarantine was lifted, the Government could, if necessary, declare an emergency in places where there would be an outbreak of the disease.

“It just came to our attention then. But you really don’t need to keep all of Lithuania in prison,” said G. Paluckas.
